Early last week a team of ten designers, creatives and video editors received details of the 434 official winners of the coveted D&AD Pencils for the 2018 award ceremony. The team had around 50 hours to create a short video sting for each winner, which had to include their profile, award-winning work and professional credentials.
Last year we lovingly restored an old shop which had stood for more than 5 decades in the centre of Leicester’s Cultural Quarter. If you followed the transformation you’ll know that we were eager to retain the some of building’s quirky historic features to provide a contemporary multi-functional creative work space; in hope of connecting with the community and other businesses within the area.
At the start of July we embarked on a new initiative: To engage with independent creative experts and businesses in the Leicester area. When we heard that a the store below us was becoming available to occupy, we jumped at the chance. This is how we transformed an old and beloved store into a creative work space, based in the heart of Leicester’s creative Cultural Quarter.
The Telelectric store, located on the corner of Halford Street, is a familiar site for locals and visitors of Leicester’s Cultural Quarter; but after 35 years of selling electronic components and equipment the owner has now retired and the shop is about to begin an exciting new chapter.
Last month Leicester based creative experience agency, SomeBrightSpark, designed and delivered the creative content that would provide the spark for the highly prestigious D&AD Professional Awards event; where the finest creative minds in design and advertising are recognised and celebrated globally.
