In the words of BGL Group’s CEO:
“for people to come away having had fun whilst working hard, feeling knackered, engaged in the group strategy and well looked after”.
We quickly realised that the project team had a very positive, hands-on culture. An honest and open dialogue led to a highly creative and collaborative process – and with a short lead time from appointment to delivery, this was key.
We created a conference with distinctive format – in the style of the Edinburgh Festival. Within the festival theme, we created an environment with campsite, picnic area, main stage and satellite ‘performance areas’. Within the spaces we co-designed energetic on-theme ‘values’ workshops and live vignettes by the project team, used a live band to assist in message delivery and incorporated a Tai Chi garden to help people focus both their mind and body on the second day. Interaction and collaboration with colleagues at the event was also a key success factor.
96% of the audience rated the event as great or good (the two highest bands). One delegate best surmised it by saying;
“Fantastic and inclusive. This was my first conference here – having worked in other blue chip companies for the last 18 years I can honestly say that on this occasion the time out of the office was well worth it! Engaging, open, inclusive and real thought into how to help networking across the business.”
